Mom April and Sophie went to have lunch for her nephew Levi's birthday. His original birthday celebration was cancelled due to rain. He had a haunted hayride planned but they had to cancel because of all the rain we have gotten here. They had his favorite meal, Sweet and Sour meatballs and rice. Uncle Paul had suggested a drawing book for hims and Aunt April also picked out a madlibs book.

The Twins Visit
Mom April's twin cousins came for a visit. They are 12 years-old and lots of fun. they liked to stay up late and sleep in. They also loved playing Guitar Hero.
They went with Sophie to get pictures made and also spent a day shopping. Dad Paul beat them at bowling and also showed them how to play Laser Tag (but they didn't let me go). i liked having them here because that meant 2 more people to try to get attention from (instead of everyone oohing and ahhing over Sophie).

Lake Dog
We went to the lake for the holidays. Although I don't like baths, I did like the lake. Dad Paul put me in and let me swim. It was tough and I got tired quick. Later I went in all by myself. I wanted to swim to Dad Paul and the twins but just couldn't bring myself to do it. It was so hot and the lake was really cool. I enjoyed just finding a cool place to relax.

Baby Sophie
Mom April had her baby. I'm not sure what to think just yet. I know it spends a lot of time in the bed thing in the living room, but they won't let me get in it to see for myself.

Playing with Matthew
Matthew came for a visit. He and Dad Paul had so much fun together. They rode their scooters, took the new kite out, played with the swords, and went to the playground.
Boating on Lake Hawkins
I got to go with Mom April to the lake. We went out on the boat for a little while. I think Mom April was more scared than I was. I had lots of fun at the lake. there was so much to see and smell. And I even made friends with a neighbor dog. After the lake we went to Matthew's house for his birthday party. It wasn't as much fun though. There was a little girl who didn't like dogs, so Mom April kept me tethered up away from her. Daisy did let me eat some of her food (which was good since I had dumped mine out at the lake). Hopefully, we'll go back to the lake again someday!

Wrangler's New Leash
Now that my trainer Laurie has seen the real me, we have been working on the long leash. Mom April found an inexpensive 25 footer. I'm learning that even if she isn't close I should do what she tells me, when she tells me. Mom April hopes that some day I'll even follow her commands without the leash!

Wrangler's a Whole New Dog
No pictures to post, just an update. Wrangler's surgery went well (and was very quick). He spent on night at the vet's and then 10 days with the stitches. We haven't seen much change in him, but the trainer says that it can take up to 3 months. He was supposed to take it easy while the first few days, but that was nearly impossible. Basically, we just tried to keep him and the kitty krew separated so he wouldn't try playing with them.
We have still been going to training each week. He does so well on the leash and we are also working on some "Good Canine Citizenship" stuff. Things like sitting politely while someone pets him, walking through crowds, greeting other dogs. He does fairly well on everything except allowing the handler to brush him. He thinks the brush is a toy or something and tries to grab it and chew on it.
The trainer got to see a different side to Wrangler today. We went outside to the fenced area, hoping to work on off leash stuff. He did pretty good at "stay" with his leash removed but once we let him off the leash and sniff a little he would come when called and ran from us. I'm glad he did this because that's the problems we have at home, but the trainer never sees him do anything except being well behaved. We are going to continue working outside with the long leash and also off leash stuff. He does like his trainer now. He went right to her and gave her kisses. Big difference from just a few short weeks ago when he would shake just walking into the room.

Blogger Challenge May 21
This is a challenge I got from Jennifer. Go to your picture folders and pick the 21st picture from the month of May. Post it and blog about it. Here is Mom April's:
Matthew came for a visit. Mom April took him to the new beach area at Joe Pool Lake. After playing in the sand by the water, they went over to playground. Matthew loves climbing, he is all boy. I wanted to go but they don't allow dogs!

Prairie Lights 2008
Matthew came to spend the night with us so they decided to go see the light display at the lake. Matthew liked seeing all the decorations, but he loved getting to stand up in the car and stick his head out the moon roof. Below are a few pictures from the outing. About halfway through they have a carousel and refreshments. Mom April thinks the carousel goes too fast but Matthew loved the ride.
Merry Christmas to All!
Here are a few pictures from Christmas. Mom April didn't take very much so I hope the other family members have pictures for her for the scrapbooks. We spent Christmas Eve with Dad Paul's family in Aledo. Little Addison loved me, Kaitlyn not so much. Santa left me (and the Kitty Krew too) a new play house. Kelso loved it! Christmas Day Kelly and Matthew came over for chili and presents.
Here is a picture of Mom April with some gifts for the baby and me looking very handsome in my "Howliday" shirt.
The loot Santa left!
