Project Life Week 12

This week I got Logan's September pictures in their pages. Still pushing off the journal cards (I can do those when I have just a few moments while the kids are otherwise occupied). I'm looking forward to summer break so that I can get 2011 completed and maybe even get caught up on 2012. The spring semester is my busiest time at work so getting pages done has proven difficult.

Here's the layouts:

Chandler Cousins Birthday Party

My sister, Kelly, did a joint birthday party for her kids whose birthday's are about a month apart, and are at about the only ages when they would both be interested in the same thing.  She rented a huge bounce house/slide thingy.  The kids jumped all day (and then next too until the company finally came and got it).  After we cut the cake, she pulled out the silly string for everyone.

The cake table.  The cake had an almost exact replica of the bounce house she rented.

Project Life Tuesday Week 11

I'm not getting as much done but am still trying to do at least a little. This week I got Logan's pictures in for August 2011. I didn't get the journal cards completed but I'll work on them soon.
Here's this week's layouts:

Glen Rose Trip

We took a few days during our spring break to take trip to Glen Rose to see dinosaurs and other wild animals.  We went to Dinosaur World and saw life-sized statues of dinosaurs.  The kids also got to "dig" for fossils.  It was really just a big sandbox but they enjoyed looking at all they found.

Sophie really wanted to go into the roped areas, especially when there were replicas of baby dinosaurs.  In her words, she just "wants to pet them".

On our way back to the hotel, we stopped to check out a real fossil dig.  It had been discovered a couple of years ago behind a motel in a ravine.  After telling you a little about it and explaining what to do, you could look for fossils yourself.  Sophie and Logan used small brushes to sweep away the dirt and ended up finding a fossil of a mussel that we got to keep.

The next day we went to Fossil Rim Animal Safari.  I think Paul and I enjoyed it even more than the kids.  We were able to feed animals from the car, including giraffes who ate through our sun roof.  Seeing dozens of giraffes just roaming around was so amazing!

We had a great time and it was very nice to spend time together as a family.

Project Life Week 10

The Mom Creative

Once again I just got one kid done. I should have done Logan but Sophie's pictures were ready so here is September. I used Facebook again to help me remember some of the other moments in our lives (those that didn't get photographed) and I included that information in the journal spaces.

It's definitely time to get back on schedule.

Project Life Week 9

The Mom Creative

So it has gotten much busier around here. I only worked on one kid's album this week. This is from August for Sophie. I seemed to have a lot of journal spaces this time so I utilized the new Timeline on Facebook and went back to that month and wrote some of the status updates that were about Sophie. Like this one about time out:

I included some of her artwork, cut to fit:

I used all this extra space to spell out SUMMER using diecut letters. Then I used the diecut letter on each card within the title, i.e. Sprinkler, CloUd Sand:

I can't wait to work on their albums again. Oh, and the 12x12 pages for their artwork are getting shipped so I'll be able to add those.

Meal Plan Monday March 5

Check out more menus.

Although, Paul did get some time off from work, he's still working late. I didn't do a good job of prepping for the next day during the second week so we ended up going out or picking up fast food way too much. I'm going to try putting the prep work on my to-do list for the day before and see if that helps.

Here's what we've been eating:
Monday: Pizza

Tuesday: Tilapia and Veggies Baked in Foil Packets

Wednesday: Sessler Salads

Thursday: Bowtie Pasta with Lemon Pepper Chicken

Friday: Dinner out at Dave & Buster's

Saturday: Italian Beef Sandwiches

Sunday: Barbecue Chicken Fajitas

Monday: Pizza (this was scheduled for Wednesday, but the kids were having a special lunch of pizza that day)

Tuesday: I was supposed to have a meeting but it didn't happen but will still picked up something while we were out. We had chicken nuggets.

Wednesday: Dinner out at IHOP

Thursday: Homemade Gourmet Orange Steamed Chicken

Friday: YOYO (You're On Your Own) I fixed fish sticks for the kids and Paul and I had leftovers.

Saturday: Another night out. Paul had to work and then took my nephew to the movies, so we just grabbed something fast afterwards.

Sunday: I had a meal planned but Paul brought us Chicken Diablo from Central Market.

I made this dessert which I found on Pinterest. I've made something similar but I liked having the bananas in it.

Here's the plan for the next 2 weeks. The second week is spring break and we will have guests for part of it and hopefully take a little trip for the last part, so I've left some open spaces and plan to be flexible. I'm using several recipes I found on Pinterest plus some from Eat at Home.

Monday: Chickan Broccoli Divan

Tuesday: Vietnam Fried Rice

Wednesday: Sessler Salads

Thursday: Lentil Tacos

Friday: Thai Peanut Chicken

Saturday: Salmon Patties

Sunday: CORN

Monday: Easy Garlic Chicken

Tuesday: Easy Quesadillas

Wednesday: Pizza

Thursday: Asian Noodles with Stir Fry

Friday-Sunday: Family Vacation
