On the Twelfth Day of Christmas...

my True Love gave to me...

no more Laundry (at least for a week).

I did the last load of laundry after dinner. I have done at least one load every day since we got home from China. Yes, that's right, people, 12 days of laundry. Now for those of you who choose to do a load a day, you're thinking no big deal. But most days I did more than just one load. And I was doing a load on Christmas day (otherwise Paul and I would have been pant-less on the 26th).

I hope your 12 Days of Christmas was as special as mine!

On the Eleventh Day of Christmas...

my True Love gave to me...

a trip to the store with both kiddos.
Okay, so this was definitely not a gift, but it's what I got anyway. I realized at about 6am this morning that there was some things that we needed from the store and probably couldn't wait until after Paul got home tonight. I honestly thought about going at 6:30am before Paul had to leave for work. But then I decided I was eventually going to have to brave a store by myself with both kids so now was as good a time as any.
As a bonus for the day, I also got 7 phone calls during naptime. Seriously, don't they realize Momma needs a nap, too.

On the Tenth Day of Christmas...

my True Love gave to me...
jingle bells and reindeer games.
I usually keep our Christmas stuff out until at least Three Kings Day (or the weekend after it). The kids found these headbands and spent the afternoon chasing each other and making the bells ring. I am so glad they can play together and have fun. If Sophie ever talks, she'll tell you this is the benefit of getting a "big boy brother" instead of a baby.

On the Ninth Day of Christmas...

my True Love gave to me...

lunch at Babe's Chicken.
We decided to go out for lunch after church today. This was our first time to take both kids out for a sit-down place. And it will probably be the last! Ha. We should have known better. On their own they are a handful, but put them together...disaster. Sophie wanted to just watch everyone so she kept turning around in the highchair, just grinning the whole time. Honestly, it probably wasn't as bad as it seemed at the time. Only tears were when Paul and Logan left to go to the bathroom (she hates it when they go off alone). And Logan ate pretty well, but Sophie just ate a few bites of mashed potatoes. I think she'd have liked the other stuff if she'd taken the time to actually try it. The Hokey Pokey was a hit, although Logan didn't quite know what to make of it.

On the Eighth Day of Christmas...

my True Love gave to me...

one wet head.

Paul has been doing bathtime since Sophie could sit up on her own and we moved her to the big tub. Now he does each child, gets them dressed, then when both are done, they brush their teeth. I am now the entertainer for the one not currently in the tub. (This may sound like an easy job, but since what they really want is to be splashing together, it actually takes quite a bit to keep them from just screaming at the closed bathroom door.) I think the kids like Daddy's bathtime better than Mommy's, but I don't know why.
