On our last trip to East Texas we stopped on our way out to get some pictures of the kids in the wildflowers. Unfortunately, we weren't at a bluebonnet patch by these flowers were still pretty.

Fun with Sophie Rose
Sophie and I have had some fun filling our days. I'm getting some ideas from Pinterest and also from my Productive Parenting emails. Here's some of the ideas:
After marking the weight of everything, Sophie was still the heaviest (and the cutest).
Sophie then upped the ante by not only balancing the pillow but also a spoon on her nose. The spoon trick is her favorite and she beats me at it everytime.
- I still had nuts left from Christmas so we broke them open, although I had to do most of them. But Sophie did like using the pick thingy to get the nut out. Of course we sorted the nuts and counted them first.
- We used the bathroom scale to weigh objects in the house. THe hard part was finding things that were heavy enough to move the scale pointer.

- We practiced our balance by walking with a small pillow pet on our heads.

- We attended a surprise birthday party for Ms. Peggy the Chick-Fil-A storytime host. Sophie was so excited to give her the birthday card and gifts she had picked out.
- Sophie has been practicing her gymnastics, taking every opportunity to stand on her head or do somersaults.
- We prepared for our first ice skating outing by "skating" on shoeboxes.
- I re-used the baking soda from the fridge by letting Sophie explore all that it can do. She really enjoyed using colored vinegar to create fizzy art.
- We had one last activity with the Easter eggs before I packed them away. We sorted them by type (plain, animals, insects, etc.) then by color, counting along the way.
